Table I. Develop Content Process

Process Name: Develop Content
Description: Project Sponsor and Group work together to define production elements supporting objectives and meeting project milestones.
Entry Criteria: Approved and documented Project Proposal exists. Group has provided sufficient products (contracts, working agreements, etc.) so Sponsor can approve proceeding with project.
Inputs:

1. Project Proposal from Group and Sponsor.

2. Other documentation of production ideas (if available).

Activities:

A. Perform Project Research: Interview Sponsor staff. Visit potential shooting locations. Gather information relative to objectives from other agencies, reference materials, Internet, libraries, etc.

B. Conduct Rights and Sites Audit: For each potential use of copyrighted or licensed material, identify cost and process necessary to obtain usage rights. Identify same for each potential shooting location not on Sponsor's property. Document findings.

C. Develop Treatment: Write condensed version of script that describes scenes (audio and video). Provide resolution to quarter minute (fifteen seconds). Review with Sponsor. Incorporate Sponsor feedback. Obtain Sponsor approval. Verify treatment meets project plan objectives.

D. Develop Rough Script: Write script with dialogue, direction, scene descriptions, and so on per standard industry practice. Review with Sponsor. Verify script follows treatment.

E. Develop Final Script: Incorporate feedback from Sponsor into script. Resolve any items to be determined or to be resolved. Review with Sponsor. Obtain Sponsor Approval.
Outputs:

a. Rights and Sites Audit.

b. Final Script.

Archive Project Research, Treatment, Rough Script documentation.
Exit Criteria: Final Script published and approved by Sponsor. Trace to Project Proposal objectives documented. Script has sufficient detail for planning video to resolution of five seconds or less.
