Major Flaws: Is four enough? First, the ad is offensive by classifying women as "8's, 9's, and 10's."
Second, most "affluent men" believe they can get an "8" just fine without the help of an agency, thank you. Like others we've looked at, this ad fails to convince its target audience.
Third, the word "outsource" generates poor imagery. Perhaps another word without such strong economic and political connotations could be used instead?
Fourth, 88% of American Way readers are married. This is at best poor targeting.
Minor Flaws: Although the ad targets men, the image could be targeting women. Would you be surprised to see the same image in a feminine deodorant ad?
The two uses of an ellipsis (...) are both incorrect: in the first case, a dash or colon should be used instead. In the second case, the ellipsis should be deleted.
Is it wise for a dating service to seek customers that believe "eliminat[ing] the tedious process of approaching strangers" is a benefit? Isn't it better to target people somewhat interested in being social?
More Findings: Sometimes an ad reflects the state of mind of those paying for it as opposed to those creating it.
