Video Clips
We thought the best way to demonstrate the quality of the Tehachapi DVD was with some QuickTime® video clips generated from the actual edit decision list. So we have two for your perusal:
The first is ATSF 8158 WB at Tehachapi Depot late on a warm summer evening. This clip represents, technically at least, the best quality in the production. Stream Right Click to Save Watch on YouTube
The second is an unknown SP EB at Marcel heading towards Mojave. In the interest of fairness, this clip represents the worst technical quality in the production. Stream Right Click to Save Watch on YouTube
Both of these clips have 320 x 240 pixel video running at 15 frames per second. The audio track is 32 kilohertz stereo. The data rate is 288 kilobits per second, which should stream just fine on slow broadband connections.

All of the images on this web site are screen captures from the video saved as Joint Photographic Experts group files at 50% quality. Click on any thumbnail and another window will open with a corresponding full size image.
Note that the images actually do look better in the video as computers use square pixels, but television uses rectangular ones.
